Finch Feeders Done Right
Most of us start feeding birds because a loved one does, or did. In an odd way, it is almost always an “inherited” interest. Mr. Canary Company was founded on an inherited finch feeder. It was created by a nature-loving WWII Marine, Ray Mitchell, who owned a small plastic extrusion business. He was my dad. He designed and built the first Mr. Canary Finch Feeder. It was (still is) a simple design that puts the focus on THE most important thing about feeding birds: conencting with nature.
We continue Dad’s philosophy today: Simple bird feeders, delivering simple pleasure. All our feeders come with seed already in them, so you can get right to the business of ‘enjoying’ nature without all the setup chores. When they’re empty, drop the container in the recycle bin, replace with a new one, and get right back to the important stuff.
While I understand the allure of bells and whistles, I also know that more ‘stuff’ has a direct relationship to more work and more expense, but the result is the same. Both kinds of feeders bring the same beautiful birds to my yard, but simple feeders come with fewer setup, and clean-up chores. It’s an easy point to miss when you’re shopping; which is why my sister Chrissy often reminds me: “it’s always important to keep the main thing, the main thing.” She’s smart about alot of stuff.
Our finch feeders are made in America – in Indiana, to be exact. Our feeders are sourced, assembled, packaged, and shipped by the most-loyal, determined, and inspirational production team you’ll ever meet.
